Bastille chair, from the University of Twente- Enschede. Designed in 1964 by the Dutch architect Piet Blom. Manufactured by Huizenga N.V. Utrecht, with a quantity of 400 pieces.
The chair was named after the university canteen. The canteen got immediately baptized in Bastille, referring to the famous prison in Paris. When the students entered the canteen, it felt like a prison.
After a renovation of the university canteen in 2002, most of the chairs got lost.
